Training Program

The Navy Diving Camp provides a fun and exciting learning and training situation for divers of all levels and abilities. Beginning divers are welcome. Divers will train two sessions per day.

Morning Sessions:

  • Trampoline/dry-land board with port-a-pit spotting apparatus
  • Stretch and exercise program
  • Springboard and platform diving

Afternoon/Evening Session:

  • Will emphasize springboard and platform diving.
  • Lectures, discussions on techniques, methods and history will be presented in the classroom,
  • Diving films of camp, National and Olympic Diving competition.

Housing
Out of town divers who request housing will stay in Bancroft Hall, the dormitory of the U.S. Naval Academy. Every room has a sink and shower. Communal bathrooms (seperate for boys and girls) are located on each floor. Room sizes vary with 3-6 beds per room. Male and female counselors will provide supervision in the hall and evening recreational programs. Bancroft Hall is air-conditioned

Meals
Overnight campers will be served all meals (breadkfast, lunch, and dinner) in a dining hall at USNA. Dinner will be provided Sunday night after check-in for overnight campers. Day campers will be served lunch Monday-Friday with the overnight campers. Snack and juice machines are available in Bancroft Hall

Typical Schedule

7:00am Wake up
7:30am Breakfast
8:00am Stretch out and warm up
8:30-12:00 Trampoline and dry land board with port-a-pit with overhead spotting apparatus. One meter, three meter and platform diving (for those who wish) line-ups and lead ups
Noon Lunch and rest
1:30-4:30pm Diving - one meter, three meter, platform. We emphasize optional dives in the afternoon session.
4:00pm Day camp departs
6:00pm Dinner
7:00pm Organized recreation
10:00pm Lights out
